Fiji shifts to luxury tourism

Fiji has always been well known as a family friendly destination, but this year the focus for Tourism Fiji will shift to the high-end luxury market.

Speaking to KarryOn at the Fiji Tourism Exchange (FTE 2017), Tourism Fiji CEO, Matthew Stoeckel said despite the challenges of last year, there is a positive outlook in 2017.

“Growth in the luxury space is a big focus this year, proving Fiji is not just about a family destination, but has a high-end luxury offering for couples,” Stoeckel added.

The opening of three luxury properties in 2017 has boosted this drive, with Six Senses Fiji, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and Kokomo Private Island Fiji the newest additions to an already star studded luxury line up.
